Almost Wordless Wednesday: Merry Christmas

arroz-con-gandules

This year we decided to visit my in-laws. We had a fantastic time and were able to create some great memories. One of them, was our impromptu Christmas Eve dinner. I wanted to do a roast pork – acclaimed by my family – as a way to help my mom-in-law in the kitchen. From there it evolved to having a typical puertorican Xmas dinner: Arroz con gandules y pernil.

I cooked a lot of food for 6 people and felt so accomplished when there was almost no pork left and no rice at all! Yeap… mission accomplished!

Here’s to 2012!

Here we go again… it’s that time where we check out how we did with our goals and plan out how to execute our dreams. 2011 was beyond our expectations!

I’m very excited for what 2012 might bring. We are moving forward with our app development business as well as we are looking forward to do a product launch. Exciting times indeed!

To keep up with our new goals, this blog might change course to help us express our ideas, work and dreams. I see us talking more techie than usual as well as keep expressing our love for our ponies. Hopefully, we’ll have time to enjoy life while we keep building our dreams.

Happy New Year!

Looking back at the first #TedxSanJuan

There are times that an event comes by in my Island of Enchantment that makes me feel like I should be there. Last Friday, was one of those days. Instead, I was able to watch the livestream and felt inspired and more fired up to be a better person and to find ways to help my community.

The speakers were fantastic, and by the way you can see their presentations here. One that touched my heart the most was Noel Quiñones. An accomplished filmaker, Noel shot this documentary, “El 17″, about how when one person cares against all odds, it can be contagious and the results simply miraculous.

If you have a few minutes to spare, I implore you watch the video. It explains how in 60 days, Hebé Pérez Figueroa was able to inspire the community of Maricao and save their high school from closing its doors and change a 9 year trend of failure.
